The Gardner Village Board on Monday once again continued their discussion on allowing chickens in the village.

One of the residents in attendance inquired if their existing fence around their existing chicken coop does not meet the ordinance, would they then need to change the fence?  The board voted to accept the edits to the current draft and forward to legal counsel for review. The final chicken ordinance could be voted on in September.

Commissioner Dick Hileman reported the village is awaiting permits to clean to pits.  Village Clerk Pat Malinowski reported the Route 66 sign will be installed this afternoon and Mayor Mike Serena along with the board congratulated Dorothy Treasure on her 100th birthday.
